Chase bank has launched a new cash back debit card in the UK market. The card comes from the new Chase current account (which is what UK people call a checking) account. It earns 1% cash back on all spending and currently 3% at Amazon.

I’ve been using the Chase account in the uk since it came out
Hopefully it comes to the US soon, personally im half hoping for an amex personal checking account
Their interest rates suck, they owe their customers this.
Pretty sure this came out in September…
Good review. I personally being a chase account specialist for 3+years, I will say that everything about chase is gimmicks. My capital one accounts give me way more features than chase. Not sure why people bank with them or even call for assistance when most things can be done online
A current account is used for current funds, rather than those on deposit or invested. Presumably a checking account a where funds may be checked by someone? The tax office?
This card just seems:meh
Quick question, can creators choose to publish their dislike count publicly on their videos now, or is that not allowed?
As it stands, the actual banking experience with Chase UK is not very good. Its mobile app only (no walk-in branches that I'm aware of) and its lackluster at best with no real USPs beyond the first year cashback
Do you think Chase will start to bring out credit cards in the UK market?
Seems like more companies are moving towards no number cards, eventually it’ll be credit cards with no actual card 😂
In a way it’s cool in us since you get charged Schwab debit card it’s awesome you can withdraw money from anywhere no fees for atm and foriegn transaction which is awesome and where card gets accepted definitely chase credit card to get some bonus or Amex credit cards
From the UK 🇬🇧, I've had it since launch, hopefully Chase come with some credit cards, that challenge the ones we currently have.
Yep got it since the launch, its alright card, a bit too plain for my liking, the app is good tho
I miss living in the UK. If I ever live in the UK again, I will definitely open a Chase account there.
Wow even the Centurion has foreign transaction fees, that seems pretty crazy too me.
Super cool to see Chase moving into the UK market. Hopefully they'll bring some credit cards over too.
That's ridiculous that the Centurion has foreign transaction fees for how much the annual fee is.
love it i have this
hey broski my brother got into some heat around covid started basically lost his income and could not paid for the credit cards it was out of the blue and he just been letting them sit there cuz they closed the accounts but still in collections and wants to get everything gone completely any tips?
I like Shifu critiquing how "British" Chase's words are lol
I think that because of the Brexit, American credit card companies will be able to do some proper offers and cash-back (like in the us) that weren’t allowed before because of the EU
We don’t pay for hospital treatment? Erm… yeah, we kinda do. Firstly appreciate all of your excellent content, so much of it – great work. For anyone wondering about that – we have a National Health Service in the UK, known as the NHS for short. I have had private health insurance at different points for different reasons, but our NHS does free at the point of use treatment – this doesn’t mean free though. I typically pay many thousands of pounds to the NHS alone as part of tax. For Americans, this will seem like an alien concept. Most of us are happy to pay it actually because no matter who you are, you’re getting treated if you need it in the UK. I believe if you are from overseas, the NHS will attempt to recover payment but in reality, they’ll always check your pulse before your credit card. Anyway, I’m off on one here 🙂 Just sharing the reality of our health service, which does mean it’s not free, It is, I believe the biggest area of budget and it’s the fifth largest employer int he world.
Using the UK Chase account now purely as my spending account for the 1% cashback, that’s as good as anyone will get in the UK, lol. But honestly if it did not have cashback would not have bothered, it offers no advantages over local fintech banks like Starling and Monzo.
