A nail in Virgins coffin …
Since I've now formally ended my association as an MGM Players Card holder, I'm glad this hotel was sold – it was really the only one of the MGM properties I ever stayed as it was. Good for Hard Rock – I'm wondering when their loyalty program will take of the Mlife at the Mirage? In any event, I'm glad it's sold. I've gone all-in at Venetian-Wynn-TI as my hotels now after ditching MGM. But Hard Rock might be a great addition, especially down at that end of the strip where MGM really has no presence now.
If you guys do a group meet in January let us know! I'm there for the Sin City Classic event to play the tennis tournament.
Good idea but a bit sad to see them just reusing hollywoods unique design .
Nothing on the strip is untouchable, the strip will lack the history and legacy that part of Fremont will preserve and market. The Golden Gate, El Cortez and the Plaza will be the leaders of the lasting legacy of Fremont Street.
The Beatles cirque show at the Hard Rock sounds more fitting. Definitely excited for this change.
Great job guys!!! We always enjoy your videos- from Ohio !
I'll never forget how awestruck I was the first time I walked into the Mirage 🌴 lobby. Can't imagine LV without it.
Can’t wait to see what they do. There is so much space front and back. The volcano had its time..😁
Hard Rock is a dump. I feel sad for this. The volcano is iconic. Replacing it with a lame guitar hotel is pathetic. I’ll never spend a dime in that dump.
Awesome!
We have been waiting for this and the time plan fits us perfectly.
🔥🖤🤘🏼😎🤘🏼🖤🔥
The poker room there used to be one of my favorites in Vegas and it was really sad that they closed it . Hopefully Hard Rock will open a new Poker Room .
HR did a nice job w the remodel in AC. looking forward to this!
I guess I'm the only one that agrees with you guys. Update/ retheme the atrium, build the guitar hotel and redo the pools. A rooftop bar on the guitar would be great too. The pool parties at the old Hard Rock were very popular if they can have the same vibe at this new one it would attract a lot of young people with a bonus of being right on the strip.
Nobody likes change and to see iconic properties go away but at what point should we have frozen Vegas? 1955, 1965, 1995? Just go to Reno if you want outdated properties 😛
Living in Florida the only casino near me is the Hard Rock in Tampa. Their machines are so tight and giveaways are bad especially since they are the only casino around. Right now the Seminoles are asking people to sign a petition here in Florida to keep the Las Vegas casinos out. I ran into one yesterday and told him I wasn’t signing it and that they need more competition as they are a monopoly in Florida!
You can go to a Hard Rock almost anywhere. The Mirage is unique to Vegas. I agree it needs some updating and was sure whoever bought it would make some changes, but I hoped it would still be recognizable as the Mirage. It sucks that it happened this way. I would be much more excited if they were rebranding a less iconic property.
Where are they going to get all the water for the new project? It seems anybody who gets water from Lake Mead is being cut back.
Shawn, you were right! I remember thinking it would either be the Seminoles or Phil Ruffin!
Keep the volcano!!!!!
Welcome to Fabulous Lost Vici . I am definitely going to miss the Mirage buffet . For those who can't afford Caesars or Wynn buffet , Mirage is not bad . All you can drink wine and beer !!!!!!!!!!! For those of you who can't figure out who owns Lost Vegas it goes like this . Vici owns the land and all the wine glasses but Caesars owns the sidewalks, who rents it back to Brookstone who is lending it to MGM Growth ,who is no longer growthing. The Indians are moving into Elderado land which is no longer Elderado and might be Caesars on the third tuesday of each month . Ballys is buying the Tropicana so they can sell it back to Hilton who is renting it Penn Gaming while Vici hovers over it looking for a good deal !!!!!!!!!!!!! and Phil Ruffin just sits buy waiting. I hope this helps everyone understand the inside story of Fabulous Lost Vici !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So buying the operations, not owning the land. Then building on land you don't own? Seems risky for HRI. Not so much for VICI.
Great update! 1989 was forever-ago in Vegas terms. I think HR coming to the Strip is great for Vegas!
I think the Hard Rock will do it justice. I go to Tampa Hard Rock and they do a good job. Tons of room where that Volcano is….looking forward to it.
Thanks for the detailed video. Im sad to say that I don’t like any part of this. I think this was a bad move on MGMs part.
Stayed at the Mirage when it first opened. .slots were tight a$$
Why did they close the old hard rock hotel?
Ya I can get behind this. I hate seeing older vegas disappear but this looks nice.
I love the Mirage! Such a beautiful hotel and one of the first mega resorts. I'd think "Love" would in with the Hard Rock theme perfectly. Kind of sad.
This BEYOND sucks! The volcano is one of the best free attractions on the Strip…I frequently stay in a strip view room at TI and one of the benefits is being able to watch the volcano from my window…Not only will that be gone, but a big tower in that location will likely block most of the view of the Strip on that side…
Did Richard Branson get screwed???
He paid almost $1B for the old Hard Rock, price plus renovations, for a casino in a bad location. Branson could have had the operations at the Mirage for about the same price in a great location, and all he had to do was change the name.
Thanx for the update. Will miss the Mirage. It had a unique flair for Vegas. There are Hard Rocks everywhere. But progress moves on. Karen
OH NO losing that BEAUTIFUL EXCITING VOLCANO for a stinking guitar, please say it ain’t so!!! And why are they trying to turn it into what they have in Florida??? I love coming to Vegas because it’s Vegas, this makes it unique if I wanted to go to Florida, I’d go to Florida. I don’t like this idea at all.
Leave Mirage alone. Hard Rock should’ve taken over Treasure Island. Now that place really needs an update.
That is not the original volcano the original one was a little smaller.
Mgm should spend that money into the hotels they own. Even the flagship Mgm grand can use some of that money…selling mirage when they could have kept it up instead they buy cosmo which won’t be the level of luxury is could be…
Mix feelings here! I'm kind of sad to see all the old hotels gone. I understand the need to modernized the city but Vegas is starting not to feel like Vegas anymore.
no way the best hotel in Vegas is the Mirage I love it. It is one of a kind, How needs and ugly big guitar in front will not go there
Obviously, Vegas is changing again.
😬 Hopefully, it will be a good thing!😉
